Checking that your goods are authorized for shipment

Before shipping, you must ensure that the contents of your shipment do not fall within the categories of goods prohibited by Boxtal or the carrier you have chosen.

Constraints may also exist depending on the country of dispatch/destination.

Goods prohibited by Boxtal

All categories listed below are prohibited by Boxtal.

Dangerous or dirty goods

  • Any goods covered by national, European and international regulations on dangerous products as defined in particular by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) regulations such as, but not limited to: explosive materials and objects; ammunition and firearms, weapons of war or collectors' items, loaded or not; gases, flammable materials (solid, liquid, gaseous), oxidizing, toxic and/or infectious substances, corrosive or radioactive products, oxidizing materials and organic peroxides.
  • All objects which, by their nature, packaging or conditioning, may present a danger to personnel, third parties, the environment, the safety of transport vehicles, or damage other transported objects, machines, vehicles or property belonging to third parties.

Notable exception: lithium batteries alone or packed simply with the equipment cannot be accepted through national or international mail. On the other hand, they can be accepted when they are installed in electronic equipment provided that the packages do not contain more than four cells or more than two lithium batteries. The power must not exceed 20 Wh for lithium ion cells and 100 Wh for lithium ion batteries; the weight of lithium must not exceed 1g for lithium metal cells or 2g for lithium metal batteries.

Prohibited goods

  • Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as defined by the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) or other illicit drugs prohibited in the destination country.
  • Obscene or immoral objects.
  • Counterfeit and pirated items.
  • Documents having the character of current and personal correspondence exchanged between persons other than the sender and the recipient or persons living with them.
  • Publications or audiovisual media prohibited by any applicable law or regulation.
  • Any content whose transport by postal delivery is likely to harm human dignity, integrity or respect for the human body, in particular ashes and funerary relics.

Highly regulated, valuable, or fragile goods

  • Live or dead animals.
  • Coins, banknotes and other valuables.
  • Fresh and perishable, chilled, or frozen products.
  • Plants, flowers, or seeds.
  • Pharmaceuticals, drugs.
  • Tobacco.
  • Perfume.
  • Jewelry and precious objects.
  • Motorcycles, scooters.
  • Appliances.
  • Listed objects or paintings, collections, mirrors, and windows.
