Impact of the Olympic Games on shipping

From July 15 to August 11, the period of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will open, then from August 28 to September 8 the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. These two international events could have repercussions on your expeditions.

What will the impact be on your shipping?

Increased road traffic which could affect delivery times

Certain areas of Paris, cities of Île-de-France but also, and to a lesser extent, areas of Nantes, Lille, Bordeaux, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, Châteauroux, Saint-Étienne and Tahiti will be subject to restrictions strict traffic regulations to ensure the safety and smooth flow of travel during the Games.

Traffic restrictions that could lead to delivery failure

Access to certain areas will be limited or reserved exclusively for accredited vehicles, which could complicate delivery to homes or relay points in these areas. You can find these zones on the government site.

What we are putting in place for the Olympic and Paralympic Games

Our partners will use cargo bikes to be able to access areas prohibited by motorized vehicles for the collection and delivery of packages. However, delivery and collection of pallets will not be possible in these areas.

Although additional human and material resources will be put in place during this period, longer delivery times must be anticipated. Therefore, guaranteed delivery time will no longer be available on transport offers. As a result, no offer will offer compensation in the event of a delay. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused.

We will also cut offers with Saturday delivery options during the Olympic Games period, i.e. Saturday July 27, August 3 and August 10. We will come back to you regarding maintaining this measure during the Paralympic Games.

No collections in Île-de-France will be carried out on July 26, the date of the opening ceremony.

In brief:

  • From July 18 to September 8 - suspension of guaranteed deadlines on all offers.
  • From July 18 to 25 - delivery difficulties are expected in Île-de-France.
  • July 26: no collection in Île-de-France.
  • From August 26 to 11 - delivery difficulties are expected in Île-de-France and in the cities hosting the Olympic Games.
