Configuring the display of a parcel points map for Shopify
PrerequisiteThe parcel point map is configurable for all Shopify plans:
- Basic, Shopify and Advanced plans - the parcel point selection is made on the thank you page.
- Plus plan - the parcel point selection is made during checkout.
Preliminary
This section only applies to stores created before January 1, 2025 that can use scripts on the order status page.
You should make sure that you are not using the additional scripts on the order status page, which is now deprecated and will be disabled by Shopify in the near future. If for some reason you still need to use the additional scripts, see the Using additional scripts on the order status page section below.
Go to your store's Settings, then to the Checkout section. If you see in the block Order status page additional scripts, you see a downgrade link, it means that you are already in block mode. Otherwise, it means that you are using the obsolete mode. Then click in this block on the link editor to configure the blocks.
Click Publish in the top left when done (see below for configuration) to enable the blocks. When you go back to the Checkout section of your store's Settings, you should now find an Order status page additional scripts block with a downgrade action that optionally allows you to revert to deprecated mode.
Enabling the parcel point map in the theme editor
Go to the theme editor from your Shopify backoffice by clicking on Online Store > Themes, then Customize on your current theme.
Basic, Shopify, and Advanced plans
Change the displayed page via the drop-down list at the top of the page, and choose Checkout and customer accounts.
Now choose the Thank you page from the drop-down list. On the left Sections menu, in the Order details section, choose Add app block, and activate the Points de retrait block from the Boxtal app, you will then see the block appear in the preview. You can Save your changes by clicking the button at the top right.
Now choose the Order status page from the drop-down list. Plus plan
Change the displayed page via the drop-down list at the top of the page, and choose Checkout and customer accounts.
From the drop-down list, now choose the Checkout page. On the Sections menu on the left, in the Delivery section, choose Add app block, and activate the Points de retrait (Shopify Plus) block of the Boxtal application, you will then see the block appear in the preview. We recommend activating the Automatically expand sections to show app option in order to automatically display the details of the shipping methods, otherwise your already authenticated customers may access a simplified checkout where the point selected by default is hidden. You can Save your changes by clicking on the button at the top right.
From the drop-down list, now choose the Order status page. On the left Sections menu, in the Order details section, choose Add app block, and activate the Points de retrait (Shopify Plus) block of the Boxtal app, you will then see the block appear in the preview. Enabling parcel point information on the Shopify backoffice order page
On an order page, in the App Blocks section, click + App Block and add the Selected parcel point block.
Configuring your shipping methods
Set up shipping methods is configured in your Shopify store.
Go to Settings, Shipping and delivery section, and in the Delivery customizations block, click Add delivery customization. Select Parcel point map.
The table that appears allows you to associate parcel point networks with your shipping rates.
Transport offers may only be restricted to certain countries, make sure you do not offer a parcel point delivery offer for a country that is not covered.
Known problems
The current implementation does not work in the case of Shopify's split shipping: the checkout then offers to choose two shipping methods and the current implementation is not compatible. You can configure this option in the Shipping block of the Shipping and delivery section of the Settings of your shop.
Using additional scripts on the order status page
The card is compatible with Shopify's deprecated feature of scripts on the order status page. If you are in this case and do not know how to set up the map, contact us.
